I provide English, French & Italian language lessons in person or via Skype. Moore Language Solutions is based in East Sussex, England, and serves predominantly Eastbourne, Lewes, Brighton and the surrounding areas. However, tuition via Skype allows students anywhere in the world to connect and learn with a British native in real time.
Moore Language Solutions specialises in one-to-one language lessons and tuition. Group classes can sometimes leave students feeling left behind or, conversely, not sufficiently challenged. I have found that working one-to-one gives each student the time and attention they deserve as well as the support they want and need. For this reason, each language session is tailored to your specific language requirements and sets the right pace for you.
I can help you with general conversation practice and exam preparation for your TOEFL or IELTS qualifications, academic essays or other written texts for your Masters or PhD course. If you are studying French and Italian at school or college, I can help to prepare you for your GCSE or A-Levels.
I am a highly qualified and experienced British native language teacher, available to help you improve your English, French or Italian whether you live locally or further afield. I have been working with languages professionally for over ten years and I harness this experience to provide flexible, friendly and fun language tuition either in person – at my home office in Hailsham – or online via Skype. If you would prefer to meet in a public location such as a café or library, I may be able to accommodate this into my work schedule. I work with students of all ages, nationalities and abilities and welcome all enquiries.
Qualifications & Affiliations
I have lived, worked and studied in the UK, France and Italy and understand what it is like to learn a new language both at home and in a foreign country. I have taught English, French and Italian in schools, universities and privately. I understand that it is essential to have a supportive and encouraging teacher as you learn another language, no matter what your age or level. In my lessons, you can ask as many questions as you like; when you make a mistake, that’s great because it will reinforce your learning. I love teaching and thoroughly enjoy sharing my specialist knowledge with those seeking to learn. Whilst I am now a freelance language service provider, I have previously worked in the following key areas: Education, Retail, Publishing and Hospitality. When I am not teaching, I am often translating market research data, transcribing legal, medical or audiovisual files, proof-reading academic and research publications or writing optimised product descriptions for online businesses.
As well as extensive and varied professional experience, I have the following accreditation/affiliations:
- Post-Graduate Certificate in Education – French and Italian; Key Stages 3-5 – Bristol University
- Masters in Translation with Language Technology – Swansea University
- Bachelor of Arts Joint Honours in French and Italian – Cardiff University
- Affiliate Member of Institute of Translation and Interpreting
- TEFL Certificate 1

- Full Member of Proz
- SDL Trados License

I use a variety of bespoke resources to teach you; these include exercises, games, interactive web sites, articles, videos and songs. I take time to create resources that enhance your previous learning and concentrate on areas you find difficult. My lessons are fun, varied and creative and I have been commended for my relaxed but professional approach and personable teaching style. However, if you would rather simply meet, converse and have me correct and guide you as you go, that’s fine too!
